What about covering walls with this material? (for dedicated ht)

Hello brothers

i have a question, this type of material is oke or not for dedicated hometheatre?

and for buying

i m planning to paint ceiling and behind the screen wall with black flat paint

and this material is for side walls

what do u think?

I finally found the copy of my book that this comes from. There is no silver in it like I thought there was. It is just black and grey. Unfortunately this paper does has a slight satin finish so it is reflecting a small amount of light. If you have your heart set on this one, I would suggest that you order a sample.

As you can tell from the pictures you saw of my dedicated home theaters, I like contrasting color.

I think this wallpaper will be fine. I'd accent it with maybe some darker greys and blacks throughout the room.

Go ahead and grab those pictures and put them here on your thread. Often, when pictures go away online, others won't be able to see what you are talking about.

Please read some of the acoustic treatments master thread. While the material may look good, you will need some sound absorption.

Looks to be fairly reflective. Might be ok if you keep it far enough away from the screen, but as Bucsroom mentioned, you will benefit from covering some of it with acoustic treatments.

All rooms vary but I already noticed a huge difference with absorption in my room. All I've really done so far is front wall bass traps and the OC703 lying around against the wall testing it out before I do my frames and I'll be darned it works. Wouldn't have sounded as good in my room anyway with just wallpaper, maybe yours will be fine but I'd at least look into some well placed panels.

i care about image quality, sound quality is not my concern cuse i live in an apartmant in turkey, it can makes some problems with neighbours smile.gif

The material looks to be a little bit reflective and since it is vinyl, I am sure that it will be reflective. Painting the front wall and ceiling flat black will help tremendously. Have the side and back wall covered with the black and gray wall covering will be better than, light colored walls, but not as good as a dark flat paint and certainly not as good as dark cloth.
