Hello all

Hello all my name is chris and i bought the samsung ue40es7000 for my bedroom.

Now im looking to upgrade my sound.
Ive researched for days now and i think my best option is an av receiver.
Il be using it for;
Sony Playstation3 (gaming/blurays/dvd's), Samsung M3 3.0 external HDD(movies/tv shows).
Apple Airplay(music)
Am i right in saying that i dont need a dvd/bluray player for surround sound when i have a ps3?

What i want to get out of the receiver;
5.1 channel
5+ HDMI inputs for future
Full HD audio (dolby hd and dts hd)
ARC audio return channel
Built-in Apple Airplay
DLNA
upscaling/upconverting.

Future proof is important

I also need a nice set of 5.1 speakers to go with this receiver.
I have looked and looked and nearly bought the Yamaha RXV673 but then my dad said i should be looking at Denon because they specailize in audio alone.
A freind recommended the yamaha RXV673 with Tannoy HTS101 speakers but i dont want to take plunge to learn i could have gotten better value for less money, or even greater value for slightly more money.

My budget is £800 for both av receiver and speakers.

How is one supposed to choose one receiver out of all the brands? Denon, pioneer, sony, onkyo, marantz, yamaha, cambridge.

Please help me my headis really starting to hurt now haha

Ok i think i have enough info to do a little of my own research and finally decide.
Its either going to be a Denon or the Yamaha RXV673
