IR extender for HK AVR 125? Dual Frequency? (searched)

I've searched on here for while but can't quite find the answer I'm looking for. My HK AVR 125 does not have a port for an external IR. Looking at some IR extenders online I noticed some say dual frequency. I can't get a clear answer on A) what that means and B) if my receiver needs a dual frequency unit.

I'd like to move my receiver to the basement right under the television. I may also add the comcast hd-dvr at some point, though I'm going to switch back to Fios once my current contract is up (September). PS3 may make it's way downstairs too, but I imagine the bluetooth remote should work for that device.

I'm planning on using my replacement HK remote for the receiver as well as the comcast remote

Thanks!

There are many ir solutions for what u want to do. Dual frequency is needed for many satellite boxes and some plasma televisions. I currently have over 25 devices in my closet and none of them need dual band ir to function. If u shop around you'll notice that the price difference between the 2 are not that critical and just for controlling your AVR it probably isn't needed. But to clear it up for you. Dual band will work with everything, single will work with everything but dish receivers
