Hi - quick question.
I have a Yamaha HTR-5063 which indicates 3D playback - from Yamaha:
"Yamaha receivers displaying this icon support 3D HDMI pass-through from 3D-compatible Blu-ray Disc, game and broadcast devices to 3D-compatible HDTVs. 3D provides a more engaging audio and video consumer experience when using 3D-capable products and 3D media content. Note that special eyewear may be required for viewing 3D content."
The receiver is connected directly to the Panasonic 51" 3D Plasma TV (indicates 3D ready) (Model: PN51D550C1FXZA).
All my components then connect in the the AVR.
However, my blu-ray player (a Samsung, but I do not know the model number) is NOT 3D capable.
I am wondering - because my AVR supports 3d and everything is hooked up through 3D capable-HDMI cables, do I need a 3D blu-ray player to view 3D blu-ray movies? The blu-ray player should send everything to my AVR and then - does my AVR process the 3D disc for 3D viewing even though the blu-ray player is not 3D capable?
Do I have to buy a new 3D capable blu-ray player if my AVR has 3D HDMI pass-through from 3D-compatible disc?
I know I will need compatible 3D glasses for my 3D TV which I plan to get.
Any advice/answers? TIA.
Matt
