I am now having some of the same issues I had before and need some advise:
-Like many I can't seem to get the online web DVR manager to set recordings. I can set exactly one series and it will take on both the web and the hub but when I try to set up another one nothing gets set on either location. I was able to set up a single episode recording but have become frustrated with the problem as my old DVR always worked with this method. Could it be that I named them the same as before and the system is confused. I had this exact problem last Friday when it was fist installed. Even recording set up from the remote to the box only show up when they want to.
-How do you set a series recording to only record on a given channel like before. I set up Castle as a test since it starts Monday but it also wants to record all the repeats on TNT or wherever. I was careful to select new episodes only. I can't seem to set that from the web DVR manager or from the remote. I haven't tried from the guide yet.
-I am having issues with recordings stopping and restarting then having multiple recordings of the same show at the same time. Also had this issue Friday.
-Not getting audio drops and video flashes with OD, but I am with live and recorded TV.
-I had a recording set up for repeats of Leverage on a local channel. It was showing on the box series manager but not online. With some tweaking I finally got it to schedule.
-I tried to set up a schedule for Hostages that starts next week and it did not take so I did the pilot only. That took, but when I changed it to a series recording first online then on the box it never changed the pilot to the series three red dot indication. I think the old boxes might have acted this way since technically I still have an episode recording set for that episode, but I remember the old DVRs figuring that out and changing the indicator if you re-saved the series recording?
-Friday when I had the scheduling issues I rebooted the box and some of them showed up (only the ones done directly on the box, the ones from online never showed up). Going to try that now.
I just found out that if I set a series recording, then delete it and go right back in I can select this channel only however the record in HD if available or only in HD option goes away. I fixed Hostages and Castle that way.
Having to open all the tabs on the recording schedule is way inconvenient. Any way to keep those open like on the old DVRs? All of this extra clicking is getting old very fast. It is not easy to look and see what is going to be on and recorded and verify that recordings are scheduled.
Another annoying issue I have found is I had the movie Can't Buy Me Love scheduled on ABCFAM Sat morning. When I tried to search for the movie all I got was the $3.99 OD version listed and nothing about the free showing on ABCFAM. Anyone know how to get around that? The search seems to be much less reliable and controllable than on the old system. I had to schedule this one from the web and it did take.
All this talk about missed recordings is making me nervous. If my Sunday night triad of Breaking Bad, Dexter and Boardwalk Empire does not record I am going to be pissed since that will put me behind on my TV watching and next week is the major start of the fall TV season.
Any tips and tricks will be appreciated and I apologize if I have repeated questions that have already been asked and answered. I have read all the posts but it's like when you are trained on a tech. and can't apply it until you get your hands on it. I don't recall folks complaining of the oddness I am seeing.
Also I still can't get the diag screens to come up. I press and hold the exit button for 5-10 seconds then hit page down and nothing happens.
