Onkyo HT-S9400THC vs what I've pieced together

What do you guys think? I kinda cobbled this selection of components together without spending much time. How do you feel about quality/cost? I have been eying the HT-S9400THX and its predecessor for several years now, but haven't had the space to put in giant speakers. I'm finally moving to a new apartment, and I've begun looking at my options again, and the general consensus is that the included speakers in that HTIB are actually polished turds. Have I done any better with my selection?

(ps, is this the right forum for this?)

The 9400THX is a very respectable and probably the best HTIB on the market. They actually have real speakers and sub and receiver, I've heard it and recommend it to ppl who have a budget of under $1k.

I think the BIC Venturi speakers you selected would be better. But I would choose a different sub, maybe BIC F-12 sub and don't for get about the matching center speaker with 6.5" woofers.

I actually was looking at the F-12, and was leaning towards that one after looking at a frequency response curve for it as well as the DV64 center speaker. Thanks for the feedback!

I have the BIC Acoustech speakers and I love them and I also have dual Outlaw Audio LFM-1 Plus subs and they are great as well. I never heard the BIC Venturi series but they should be a good starting point.

The thing is, you can get the 9400 for $650 shipped 2nd day right now... Anxiously waiting for mine to arrive on Tuesday...
