OPTOMA HD25 HD25LV new budget 2D 3D DLP FULL projector - Page 5

I know about the 1080st and if I needed to upgrade my GT750 at this time, it would be the only game in town. I am very pleased with my GT750, but we know how alluring new toys are. It also seems, although I might be wrong, that Optoma has a better track record concerning defects. Anyway, I'm in no hurry but I would like to know which manufacturers are addressing the short throw 1080p market.

Not really but it did happen again where it just shut down and no cool high speed fan shut down. Went right to standby. Could not turn it back on with the remote or the on switch on the projector. I had to unplug it from the wall and let it set for a few minutes. Then I could turn it on with the remote on button. I think I had enough of playing games. I guess it will go back to Amazon defective... I really want 1080 3D but but might have to wait until more of the bugs get worked out of these new series of projectors. They even had problems on that w1070. It looked like a hit or miss with that too. Like I say wait for the bugs or others to go through the growing pains. Back to the drawing board...cool.gif

i would definitely return the unit since in the long run,if you have future problems, the warranty will not be covered here in the U.S. since it was purchased overseas.did you see the link i put up for the HD25-LV? its going to be available late this month.

How's the throw ratio of HD25? Same as HD20?

Still no reviews ? I cant find any mad.gif

I think i will go with benq w1070, there must be reason why it is so popular and this optoma is nowhere and noone mentioning it anywhere on the whole WWW. Tells something.

The reason for this, is those projectors are officially on the market for only a week or 2 here in europe and as I understand still has to be released in the US.. whereas the w1070 has been on the market since november 2012 if I'm not mistaken (and the first real reviews have also only started to come in about a few weeks after the official market release..

No I dont think so most systems only allow you to choose one form of syncing for 3d Glasses.
are you sure? Can anyone confirm that?
Both glass can be used together, but there is a drawback: The RF glasses will not filter the flash that is used to sync the DLP link glasses.

Has anyone compared the HD25 to the HD33? Any differences in sharpness?
Optoma getting people confused by releasing different models that rarely varies at the same time

hd25
hd131x
hd30
not to mention the US version HD25-LV

I finally bought hd25 along with zf2100 glasses, and i am not happy with it.... colors are a bit dull, and not sharp at all, to be precise, if one of the corners is sharp then center of image get blurred, very very bad... maybe i expected too much, or cable i bought, some no name 10m hdmi 1.4 is bad (dont think so), or situation will get better after lamp has around 70hours, at least i heard that projector lamps are burning in something like speakers, earphones? Also dont think so.

It is better than infocus x9 (720p) i previously had but i expected much much more.... Now i regret i didnt wait for some good objective review.

omg i feel so lonely here frown.gif

and here is review from trustedreview site: http://www.trustedreviews.com/optoma-hd25_Projector_review

w1070 got better score, praising it more in all aspects, sharpness, pq in general, blacks, and 3d too...

edit: after calibrating the colors a bit more now they are fine i would say, so as movies looks very nice.... my only concern is desktop picture, for surfing web etc. There those (sharpness) flaws comes to light.

HDMI 1.4a specs won't allow for anything higher than 24 Hz for 1080p. You can use 1080p 60 Hz in Side-by-side/top-and-bottom mode. You'll only get half horizontal/vertical resolution though.

I currently have a hd66(ceiling mounted) + 3dxl setup, that I love. But I'm looking to upgrade to 1080p 3D, and less RBE on 2D movies. Looking at optoma's site it seems I could just pop out the hd66 for the hd25LV and get just about the same screen size. Could someone help me understand the difference in offset The hd66 has 112% and the hd25lv has 116%. Will that move my image up or down? I'm sure I can make it work one way or another. It'd be nice if it could just be a straight swap though.(the hd66 replaced a hd70, I had to move things around some.)

It will move picture up, using a bit of keystone is also not that bad solution, because of my room placement i had to use it, and dont see diference.

Hi Kraine, just visited your website, great reviews biggrin.gif

I have a W1070, you scored it 26/30 for 3D and the Optoma HD25 you scared 29.5/30 for 3D.

I am not french and the translator is not perfect, but based on your review the HD25 is a lot better than the W1070 for 3D pop-out and depth?

I noticed that my old HD33 seemed better than the w1070 for depth and pop-out but was worried it was just a placebo effect.

One last thing, i read your review of the W1500, its got good 3D, have you tested it for 3D gaming? Is the input lag low?

Thanks biggrin.gif

HD25-LV available in 2 weeks with an increase on lumens...3200 according to Optoma's website...is it worth the wait...?
Not for me. +$350 for brighter and pseudo surround sound through inboard speakers pumping 16w? I suppose if you have a larger screen it would be worth it but probably not for my 96" 1.5 gain screen.

Difference of 4 % . If your actual screen height is lets 54 inches on a 110 inch diagonal screen.

4 % of 54 inches equals = 2.16 inches. That would be the difference.

You would either adjust the height of your screen 2.16 inches by moving it. Or adjust it at the projector end.

That's the difference between hd66 and this hd25 and the hd25 lv is the same as hd25.

Or you can adjust them both 1.08 inches.

Based on the projector calculator at projectorcentral.com, it doesn't seem so.

[

Largest Screen you can have is 87 inches from distance.
To use a 100 inch diagonal screen your projector must be set back 10 feet 11 inches.

Does the hd25 comes with emitter and 1 pair or 2 pairs of glasses like the hd33? Or have to buy separately
post #150 of 187
It does not include the emitter or glasses.
