Newbie doing calibration

Thread Starter
Hi there,
I would like to try my hands on calibrating a 65inch LG LED TV using a i1 DisplayPro with colorHFCR. A couple of questions which I hope the experts here can help:
a. If I position the i1 on the center of the TV screen, the cable to the i1 is not long enough to allow me to connect to my laptop on the other end. However, if I shift it up(such as 5 inches up the screen away from the center), then the cable is just nice. Would like to know must the i1 be positioned at the center of the screen for the calibration to be accurate? If so, what should I do in my case?

b. As I watch mainly at night, and my TV screen is glossy, there is some living room light reflection from the screen(though not noticeable to me during watching). Is it ok to calibrate under such condition?

Thanks for all the help wink.gif

Get a usb extension (no more than 8-10' max) so you can put it in the middle of the screen.
No, room light will not effect an LCD calibration with the meter in contact mode.
