No, but they usually have a date of manufacture decal on them. Check the back and bottom of the chassis. Plus, the 8300 was discontinued in 2011. The 8300HD was discontinued in 2009. And the 8240HDC was discontinued in 2011. Most/all of the 8240/8300 DVRs now issued by Cox are older, refurbished units.
