John, I remember a few years ago when the JBL's were much lower in price, still higher than your prices, but it was when production changes happened in China that neo magnets went sky high. JBL's prices, among others, went up as a result. It was crazy people buying up drivers left and right before the new pricing hit. I think the prices have come down some, but JBL has stayed pretty high. When I was looking for drivers for a design to build, the 4pi being one of them, the 2226h's were over $500 at that time. A TD15M/X/S and DNA360 combined is still lower that a single 2226h and I've got funds left for some crossover parts.

Anyway, nobody should be freaking out about your price increase, imo. I know you're aware of this, but I think it's safe to say that anyone who owns them knows they are worth more than what you're charging, it's has been mentioned here many times. I'll be looking to nab a pair of TD15H's pretty soon. I know you've got a pair in stock right now, but I've got another build to finish first! biggrin.gif

I was gonna say that I thought the jbls were expensive speakers. When I last looked (been a while) they were in the $500 range.

I would also like to see a comparison between the two speakers with seos.

In the process of replacing 2206's with TD12M's in my OSWG'd speakers.
I'll let you know how it goes when I get the chance.

If someone happens to have a 2226H, I would love to see a direct comparison when using the SEOS waveguide. I, and others have done the comparison in other applications and I know what the results would be. m.m.m. recently replaced his 2226H with the TD15M and you can see his comments here:

The AE woofers are, in my opinion, some of the best out there, and yes, they may be somewhat better than the JBL's, but, there are
a ton of the JBL2226's on the used market for some really good deals. You guys are right that if buying new, the JBL's are not really that much
of a good deal. I wish that there were more AE woofers on the used market! I would love to have a duel or even a single TD15X/M/S in each one
of my towers, but unfortunately I can not afford them, and there are not any on the used market.

Trust me when I say that I would absolutely love to have some of the AE woofers, if I could afford them!
Again, I am sorry, my original statement was not an apples to apples comparison as the JBL's that I was referring to were used.

Look into this kit. It will get you the SEOS sound for around 1/6th the price of this build. Insane value.

Haha yep. I'd probably be like Oprah and start giving out SEOS kits to everyone. "You get a SEOS kit! You get a SEOS kit! Everyone gets a SEOS!!!!!"

Done on your end at least. I'll let you post the pics of your work. Grills came out great. The whole speaker came out great.

No more calling me Vincent though, cause I feel like I'm getting scolded by a parent. Vin, Vinnie, or Vince, whichever Italian stereotype name you find the best. lol

I thought that too. With a Piano Black finish and grill, you have no idea that a 12" speaker and waveguide is underneath it... until sound starts playing.

Those look great! I would imagine that the piano black finish will make these even more beautiful!
The big question is how do they sound? Can you provide comparisons to any other speakers that
you might have experience with?

I would like to say thank you to Vinnie bag'o'donuts for being an awesome customer. Exactly the type of person I would like to deal with every time. Laid back, has an idea of what he is looking for and has awesome communication and communication skills. The last two projects for him have been awesome experiences and am kind of miffed that I only have one more project to work with him on.

Cheers to you for helping make my DIY dreams a reality. It will be several years before I have my own house, equipment, and skill to pull of the kind of builds you are able to put together, and even then they prob wont match up in quality.

I still have a pre ordered SEOS-15 and BMS 4550s that need a home in the future. Unless a flat pack comes out I could use, you'll get the heads up on those too.

Need to think of a name for the speakers now. With the black mirror finish, I was thinking SEOS/TD12X "Black Diamond" or "Black Sapphire". Any other ideas?

Would love to throw a metal SEOS and AE emblem on the grill someday.
