Odd Marketing Campaign from Digital Projection

Why does a projector need to be strong enough (especially one that isn't ultra portable) to get run over by a 4 ton truck?

Check out the videos:

Am I the only one who finds this hilarious? smile.gif

Not sure what the point of that is...but that truck does not weigh 3 tons. I have one just like it.
I would be more impressed if they drove over the center of the case. Well.. I'm just sayin!

Well, the Digital Projection DVision 1080p projector I owned was built like a tank. However, I would rather not run a tank over it............eek.gif

I just looked it up. Even the lighter single cab HiLux weighs over 4 tons. But you're right. It would have been much more impressive that way. This is still overkill. In the second video you can see they were playing that video at ISE hahaha

Man are things dull over here. How nuch does the truck weigh. Should they have used a different truck. Did they cheat by not running over case center. If they used large enough tire, most of the weight would still be carried by the plane the projector was sitting.

Try googling ANSI and NIST procedures for tire testing.

We should have a projector toss contest. How far can you throw your projector?

Give Digital Projection a call. From the looks of it they'd have no problem setting something like that up. tongue.gif

Why well DPI is clearly targeting the rental and staging market, plenty of units sliding off forklifts or scafolding.
