Buzzing E7000/8000 - Has anyone gotten theirs successfully repaired by a Samsung tech?

I just received my second buzzing E7000. I'm trying to decide whether to exchange yet another time or have a Samsung tech come out to look at it.

It is a buzz that is highly directional and if I stand in front of my TV, I can hear it from 15 feet away. If I step to the side, the volume of the buzz decreases.

I was wondering what people's experiences were with Samsung support. Is this fixable...would they replace it, or are they just going to tell me that they can't hear it and there is nothing wrong?

I went from ST50 -> E6500, then back to the panasonic because i could not stand the high pitched buzzing that was audible from 9ft away w/ audio at a decent level.

Even with IR, the Panasonic is a better tv, better blacks and silent operation outside of pure white solid fullscreen content.

I suggest you swap to a Panasonic if buzzing bugs you the way it annoyed me. I think its more the norm on that model, and i dont think they'll actually fix anything...i think its a design flaw.

I found the buzzing the most noticable if i turned my head to the side, like when i start to nap with the tv on :P I've actually got woken up by the buzz itself heh

That's noise coming off the panel itself, and is fairly common. All a tech will likely do is tell you it's normal or, if you're lucky, replace the panel - this is the same as exchanging the set, so your chances of resolving the issue aren't any better.

Silent Samsung plasmas do exist, I've seen them (and I have sensitivity to the noise). There's just no telling what percentage are buzzers. Some people can't even hear the noise, or are just able to tune it out so they're not bothered by it (I've seen that first hand as well).
