I think MB3 with VLC integrated and HD audio support would be a big improvement over MB2 inside WMC IMO... I am very excited.

I've just started using MB2 recently after getting sick of maintaining the default WMC movie library to no avail. This is probably the 3rd or 4th time over the past couple of years I've given it a spin. I really like it and the wife and kids are using it too.

I still can't figure out how to donate though smile.gif.

You use coverart or music support ? Any of the plugins ?

Highly recommend Xzener icons btw...

Not sure if you purchased any plugins... That is the only way to show support at the moment. They took down the donate button a while back, they were finding it difficult to divide earnings up between the Devs. That issue has been resolved with MB3.

Thanks Mfusick, you are too kind.

I need to tweak ALL of them for MB3... Folder icons will now be required to be 16X9. Hope to have them ready at launch... IMO, they look very good in the default theme.

To be honest, I found it difficult to bounce between websites for requests... Decided Media Browser's CT was the best option, I could really tweak the thread and make it my own.

I will have my own website soon, just have to learn how. I'm taking an HTML5 CSS3 class... I will be creating Xzener's Fanart website for my final. Stay tuned.

I have a Nexus 7 and a Droid DNA to use for testing, as well as a handful of Kindle Fires (yes, the newer ones will run MBAndrod). We are having headaches with the Droid DNA, but here the Galaxy S III runs it well... Iam an Android guy.

I have been eyeing up the Win 8 tablets for the same reason. It is too bad they didn't do something on the media front. They could have made an RT tablet an extender or provide some other cool way to stream content from WMC. Instead, all they did was make it a remote. Apparently MS thinks that is all it is good for. Fortunately the 3rd parties like MB3 have our back and will give us some functionality on that front. I am looking forward to seeing what the mobile client offers.

EDIT: I guess I should have looked at the video on the mb3 website. It looks good.

I haven't really checked it out, but would you be able to get the media center upgrade on the surface pro and then use a HDHR prime to record cablecard? Then maybe use thumb drives to store mkv's for MB3?

Actually Windows 8 on the whole new dashboard. It connects to the windows store and I guess I just assumed most of the apps are the same exact things as what is available on the windows phones...just sort of resized or whatever.

Sure, I think you could get a Surface Pro or any other Windows 8 pro convertible and add the added MC feature. The problem there is that you lose all the benefits of the Surface RT platform (e.g. less weight, longer battery, etc). Maybe MS or someone else will add some functionality down the road to allow streaming of recorded TV shows, etc.

Speaking of PVR, do the MB developers have any plans to add PVR functionality either through a plugin or an update? I am sure anything like that would be well down the road, but I am curious if there have been any discussions about it.

That's not going to work for me. guess I'll be stuck on 2.6.2 as WMC is the only solution for CopyOnce protected CableTV content and I have quite a bit of that. Damn DRM.

You could always hang on to your current set up for that and put it in a seperate library served by that.

Add all the other stuff to the new MB3 if you liked it.

You'd just use the legacy set up for the DRM stuff.

That is why I don't record with cable card. Only unflagged stuff makes sense for me to bother saving.

I know I'd change the system or OS and be screwed in future.
