My MB3 server lives on a headless virtual machine. In the past I had to remote in and log on for MB3 to auto start. If the machine did any kind of update over night and restarted then MB3 wouldn't be running afterwards.
I can still log in remotely when I am away from the house, but it adds inconvenience.
With it running as a windows service, you no longer have to log in to get MB3 to run.
