left rear channels drop sound. PLEAS HELP ME

my left rear speakers dropped out a couple months ago. tried a master reset and then tried my set up with the mic. everything was great until, the left rear. all i can hear when the auto set up is running is very very light sound coming out. very little sound. not enough to get measured my the mic. also i try to play the white noise to test the tone on all speakers. and every other channel works besides the left rear. it out puts very faint sound. almost none. some help would be great. maybe its a simple fix at my local stereo shop. thank you

Why haven't you done some tests yet?

Use a different speaker, if it works then connect that wire to a different channel and see if it works. See where it fails.

I have tried that same left rear speaker on different. ch. and it works. have tried other speakers on that same ch. and it does the same as I stated above.

Sounds like you have a bad amplifier channel...
If U have subbed another loudspeaker and have the same issue...
But 1st double check your connecting wire @ each end very easy to have a little strand shorted..

Just my $0.02... wink.gif

yeah I just recently rewired the whole thing. problem still exists.

could it be a bad cap or resister? and if so can it be fixed?

If the problem is internal within the AVR...
Yes it can be fixed..
But the repair shop will want a minimum bench charge just to check it out..
If the AVR is > 3 years old, it is dated and likely obsolete for the new tech stuff so you have to judge if you want to put $ into an older AVR..

can't afford a new unit. but this one will be perfect with what I use it for. just wish the left ch. would work so I can use the calibration mic to set it up. I use it everyday for watching, TV, movies, and alot of music. I would like it fixed before I get my speakers built

By "rear" speaker are you referring to the SL ("side") surround speaker (5.1 setup) or the actual SBL ("rear") surround speaker (7.1 setup)? Also does your model have a full set of 7.1 main zone pre-outs in which to connect to a 2CH amp?

By "left rear" are you referring to the SL "side" surround (5.1) or SBL "rear" surround (7.1)? The 707 has a full set of main zone pre-outs so you could use the correct set of pre-outs to an external 2CH amp or 2nd AVR as another option.
