I have the Canadian version; SC-1227-k. It is basically the same as the Elite SC-61. Home Theater Magazine has a review. Love the receiver!

Ordered from newegg at 11:58pm est for $529. Though I'm sure price will come back down again at some point. Looking at the specs, this thing is massive. Will have to adjust shelf to make it fit.

Excellent price for such receiver. You will never find a better deal!... This receivers is really powerful and sound Quality its OUTSTANDING! I have a Denon 3311 and honestly I prefer this Pioneer!.. You have to learn a lot from it; specially on MCACC. If after calibration you noticed some lack of bass then dont be scared!; I have a document that fixed that!! LOL! smile.gif What speakers/sub you have?!

I have the andrew jones floorstanding speakers and subwoofer. I know, too much receiver for these speakers. Hope to upgrade someday in future and hopefully really extend this receiver. I may take you up on the bass fix if I dont lke what I hear.

I hooked up my new 1222 last night to six FS51....you might need more sub but this avr well make your mains sound amazing
