Less reflective 60PNE8000 or Panny ST50 or GT50?

I am looking for a plasma that is not too reflective. The salesman at Paul's suggested the Samsung 8000 series because 'it only has a single sheet of glass". It that true? It did look slightly less reflective than the Panny's but there were in different parts of the room and hard to compare. Suggestions for other sets (under 2k) that are not so reflective?

I would like to widen the search to include the Samsung pne6500 . Some reviews say it has a good anti reflective screen. Any thoughts?

I would take a look at the owners threads and the posts that have been already made on the "reflective" "Bright room" situation....

E6500 and E8000 should be compareable as far as reflections go...

ST50, GT50 and VT50 I believe should also be similar, but may have slightly increasing better performance as you go up (cant be 100% on this).......

What really matters is how bright your room is, where the lighting is, what type of reflections are you trying to avoid, etc........There is only so much these panels can do....

Thanks for your input. The side French doors can be darkened so I am not worried about light output of the panel.....only that in the back of the room is a light source and table that I think will show up in a reflective screen. My brother has a 5 year old panny plasma that is not reflective but I don't see that kind of coating on the current models.

I am in the same boat as you my friend. I have a two year old Panny plasma and it produces no reflection. The current equivalent is the ST model but other than the infinite black panel no where does it mention anti reflective.

the vt50 has the best reflective filter. but the st and gt come very close

Of all the current generation plasmas.....you are saying the panny VT models are the least reflective. Anything coming down the pike for 2013?

The VT50 actually has the same Anti-Reflective Louver Filter as the ST50 and GT50, but the VT50 has a slightly darker Black Filter on the panel that might make it a teensy bit less reflective, but they're all virtually the same.

The Samsung PNE6500/PNE7000/PNE8000 also have a pretty good AR Filter, but they aren't as bright as the Pannys and won't punch through the ambient light as well as the Pannys do.

Go to some stores and compare the reflectivity among all these models - it's easy to compare their reflectivity there what with all the overhead lights and other stuff reflecting in their screens. If you're near El Segundo, i was just at the Best Buy last night to buy a printer and of course had to duck into their Magnolia section and they currently have a GT50, VT50, and PNE8000 on display in their semi-darkened showroom area and and i was comparing them all (for the millionth time LOL). Actual reflectivity was pretty much the same among them.

The upcoming 2013 ST60 and VT60 will have a slightly improved filter according to AVJ on HDJ. The new S60 will not have a filter.

Dont forget the F8500, from the looks of it (only video so far) the AF filter looks pretty good as well......

OP if your able to wait you may want to see what the 2013 models offer....
