Has anyone purchased from Cable On Sale before? Canadian distributor for monoprice.

If the following is any indication, colour me unimpressed:

- Price at Monoprice: $10.82 + $6.92 shipping to the Ottawa area = $17.74*
- Price at CablesOnSale: $23.35 + $7.63 shipping** to the Ottawa area = $30.98 + 13% taxes = $35.01

* According to XE.com, $17.74 USD = $17.72 CDN. Even with some fudging my the CC companies, you're still looking at under $20, delivered.
** Local pick-up costs "only" $2!

I've ordered quite a few cables - as well as connectors and speaker wire - from Monoprice. I've always received exactly what I ordered and I have never paid a penny more (tax, duty, etc.) than what I was billed.

YMMV, of course.

I think it pays to check both. When someone reminded me about that site a few weeks ago I checked for 100 feet of 12 AWG speaker wire. The wire was cheaper at monoprice but ended up cheaper at cableonsale after shipping.

monoprice $29.06 + $43.22 shipping via USPS = $72.28
monoprice $29.06 + $36.92 shipping via DHL = $65.98

cablesonsale $48.99 + $11.31 shipping + $3.02 tax = $63.32

I wonder if DHL charges taxes and brokerage fees?

In any case, we are still paying double the price than in the US.

I have never ordered from cablesonsale, always from monoprice. Never paid taxes or brokerage fees; just picked up the box at the postal outlet after they left a pickup slip in my mailbox.

I cant speak to Cables on Sale....but my experience with Monoprice has been OUTSTANDING. Their customer service is awesome and very attantive, and their prices...are just plain great. I would go with a trusted seller like Monoprice where you know you wont have any hassles, even if that means a few more bucks spent.

I bought some banana plugs from them. No problems and shipping was quick to Nova Scotia
