Shod I trust AVSHD or GCD?

Hi,
When I was checking my greyscale I made some discovery.
I have different results if I measure with AVSHD window pattern or GCD Window pattern.

Which one shod I trust?

AVSHD709 Window pattern:

GCD APL pattern, I have the same results at GCD Window pattern:

I have LG 60PA550 Plasma

So which one shod I trust?

try to do multiples measurement with the same pattern to exclude reading errors, undo your setup, re-do it and try again.,..

One of the things I noticed is you are using GCD APL patterns, all depending on your monitor I would not expect identical results from the 2 patterns. Also avshd709 rounds down to neatest integer, where gcd uses mathematical roundings. What software are you using?

I.must be blind sorry wink.gif
If you are using generic calibration disk in calman? Then use gcd as calmal uses 50% to calculate gamma so the mathematical rounding would be correct.

Do you also know what method uses chromapure ?

Let me clarify as I could be misunderstood. Avshd709 is not wrong its all about how the software works. DVE and AVSHD709 has the same values, and the difference is minimal to gcd. In this instance I think the difference is down to apl vs windows.

I think chromapure uses % aswell but not 100% sure

It's plasma, so you'll get different results by using different patterns.

+1

+1.

Most LGs have two ISF modes. I would calibrate one using the GCD windows and one using the AVS windows and compare them. Visually speaking, they will probably look very similar.
