I'm finally going to convert some unfinished space on the 2nd floor behind an existing room into a theater/studio (see attached) but have millions of questions (actually just a few):
Thanks in advance for your advice!

- The roofline is typical attic, starting at 5 feet, raising to 8 in the center. However, unlike a typical attic the long side goes across the room (19') rather than along the ridge line and short walls (13'). The pictures explain it better than I can. Cabinets will line the short walls so the net useable footprint is 15x13. The roofline will accommodate putting a 120" screen high enough to meet the 15 degree rule on either. We're not putting in a bunch of seats, but my wife is concerned about the screen being too big (120") so we're thinking of going across the room rather than following the roofline. This configuration also provides more floorspace because the speakers can go in the cabinets. But...is that going to present an issue with sound that my receiver's software can't overcome?
- Planning on clips/gg for the walls, but wondering what's best for the floor. The room sits above a bedroom and the master bath/closet. Am thinking recycled rubber is the way to go but wondering if something else better is out there. Joists are 2x8, no existing floor to worry about.
- Airflow worries me. Minisplits sound like the way to go but how do you get good circulation given you're in something that's close to hermetically sealed? Most of the HVAC folks I've talked to are nice guys and system installers but not reassuring when I start asking questions about airflow.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
