Please Help... Rythmik LV12R / Outlaw Audio LFM-1 Plus / HSU VTF-2 MK4

I'm needing some help on making the best decision on purchasing my new subwoofer for my bedroom. I'm very cautious about the spending a large amount of money without actually hearing the subwoofer first. So I'm looking for people thoughts and suggestions. Now my top 3 I'm considering after doing a little bit a research last few days are the Outlaw Audio LFM-1 Plus, HSU VTF-2 MK4 or Rythmik LV12R that will come out next week. My main listening habits are movies and lots of call of duty Black Ops 2 and of course everyday DIRECTV. My room size is 17ft x 14ft x 10ft. Now which one of these will give me the best punch and cleanness I'm looking for to bring my call of duty experience to life??

1) Rythmik LV12R -- free shipping $549.00

2) HSU VTF-2 MK4 -- with shipping is $596.00

3) Outlaw LFM-1 Plus -- with shipping is $629.00

I used to own the Hsu vtf2 mk3 and love it. I am now a proud owner of the Rythmik FV15HP. I never listen to the Outlaw nor the Rythmik 12. With that said, it is tough choice as they are all good from reading here. The FV12R is not out yet but looks promising from the spec for its price point. Any of the three will rock your bed room. I would lean toward the Rythmik as it has servo and is the cheapest.

Heard the Outlaw and the Hsu. Never heard the specific rythmik you were looking at; only heard a E15 and was completely impressed and was about to buy one but went to the DIY section instead.

Out of all of those I would say you can't go wrong with either. I myself would get the Hsu VTF2, it's supposed to be similar to the Outlaw Plus but I think it puts out cleaner than the Outlaw (EX vs VTF3). Also it is cheaper than the Outlaw!

Anyone else??

You can't go wrong with any of them. I have used subs from all, and they are terrific. Flip a coin.

Hi bigjoe, I'm in the same situation trying to decide between the three. Have you decided? I can't find a picture of the new LV12R. Does it look exactly like the FV12? Thanks

Check page 274 of the official Rythmik thread for pictures.

I am looking at the same subs I think I might go for the new LV12R unless the Outlaw goes on sale. I don't think you cant go wrong with either form what I have been reading.

It doesn't look the same because it's rear-ported, unlike the FV12, which was front-ported. (IMO, it looks better than the FV12.)

I, too, am comparing these exact subs for my current 2.0 system. Anxious to hear some reviews or thoughts on the new LV12R. I'm sure any of them will satisfy my needs and mesh nicely with my B&W CM5s.

FP22, how do you like your LV12R? I am comparing the same 3 subs in this thread right now and I am looking for any advice or reviews. Thanks.

The LV12R is fairly new, so there isn't a lot of info on it just yet, but one review can be found here.

The LV12r seems to have lost a few features that the LV12 had. The rumble filter and extension filters which you see on the other Rythmik amps are gone.

IV had my lv12r for over a month now and am very happy with it. I hear the outlaw will edge it.out in Max spl but the rythmiks are on a completely diffrent level quality wise. Jim's review is spot on IMO and I would highly recommend the lv12r for its price you really can't beat it

Yeah I hear nothing but good things about it! Not one bad post. Congrat's on your new sub.

Looks like the same amp as the FV12 now, doesn't it?

Not from the pictures from JimWilson's review, no.

Weird. I can't even find a picture of the back of the FV12 on a Google Image search to see if I'm crazy or not. Didn't anyone take one? LOL

The LV12R uses a different amp, which is perhaps the biggest change between it and the FV12. The driver, port and physical dimensions are essentially the same.

Totally happy with mine, have had it about a month now. Step up from a 10 inch BIC, night and day difference in sound quality from the whole system (Yamaha RX-V663 AVR) when balanced with this new sub. It makes things sound, well, articulate - as Rythmik says. It's true. I compared the same subs as the OP, including the EX as well and just felt the LV12R would be the best bang for the buck - and I could not be happier with the result. I just love it.

I love the LV12R. Great sound quality. Just gotta break it in for a few hours. I've had mine for a few months. It's very well worth the investment. I bought it at the introductory price, but I think the current price is still good.
