First time calibrating Sharp 70le847u. Grade my work...

First time calibrating ever. Did a lot of reading. Spent a good 3 hours calibrating. I spent forever on the primaries and secondaries and that was as close as I could possibly get them.

Used HCFR, Control Cal, and the AVSHD disc. I've attached my controlcal config as well. isfDay.xml 3k .xml file

Good job, man! Very proud of you.

I am assuming you did your calibration in the Standard Gamut as opposed to the Expanded Gamut, right? I remember when I did my calibration on the SHARP I had, Standard Gamut was the only way to get the colors to get near correct and an accurate picture.

Extremely nice Gamma you got going on there too.

I remember Chad B he prefers to target a gamma of 2.3 on SHARP displays. If you ever get bored, you should try a calibration with a 2.3 gamma and compare the results.

Cheers!

The point is that it is still probably better than whatever comes out of the box.

As demonstrated in the links provided: maybe.........maybe not. The point is that you would be wishing, hoping, guessing. Not reliable display calibration principles.
