Does anyone sell pre-formatted drives ready to install in a 50xx unit?

TIA.

eBay seems be an option. Check out this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/320Gb-ReplayTv-Hard-Drive-Upgrade-Replacement-Replay-TV-5000-/321052328080?pt=US_DVRs_Hard_Drive_Recorders&hash=item4ac035c090

You can also try Weaknees.com. They sell them, too.

The prices on those drives is insane... It took me a while to get it right, but now I just buy a drive and RTV patch it myself, if I can do it most anyone should be able to...

yeah, but it's the whole "FIND a suitable drive" that's getting to be impossible.

Seagate db35.5 series are SATA, Replays need old-school PATA drives.

and then PATA drives with friendly firmware....

Yes the Seagate DB35.3 ATA/100 drives are great, but I don't think they've been made in quite some time. I think at this stage of the game, it will be difficult to find a NEW drive that will work in a 5000/5500 series RTV. Used / Refurbed.... probably plentiful.

Cheers!
