Running 2 wires from outside wall to inside

I need some basic advice. I am adding an ethernet cable run from my router to a second router at the end of my house to extend my network. I want this wire coming in from the same hole location that my cable guy drilled to run my directv cable. I have no attic, so the ethernet will run along roof line.

My question, what is the best method to run two wires through the same exterior hole? Coaxial and Cat5.

My exterior is made of Stucco.

I'd run the new exterior/outdoor rated cat6 cable next to the existing cable.

Make certain you install a drip loop, to prevent rain getting into your wall.

Are you suggesting I should drill a separate hole in the wall? I want both of the cables, coaxial and cat5 to connect to the same wall box.

You can still connect to that plate, but do as he said and run your wire along side the coax and into the same hole, then terminate it to the plate. Assuming he caulked after drilling you will have to redo that more than likely as well.

What do you suggest I use to cover up the hole so insects can't get in? Just silicone?

Yes, that's fine for a small hole.

+1 silicone

What you may have missed:
1. Exterior rated category cable.
2. Drip loop.
