Anyone going to purchase the DVD of the game, advertised for sale at the end eek.gif
My god they are actually going to sell a DVD, I can't wait for the VHS or maybe Beta version rolleyes.gif
For $24.95 and in the year 2013 I'd hope for at least BD(or maybe HD DVD biggrin.gif).......

The red zone, especially goal line, play calling was atrocious for the Niners. They kept pulling Davis and shrank the field with the bootlegs.

And don't start with the Smith shenanigans. Watch last year's game against the Giants. He was running scared and one hoped almost every pass. Their is a reason Crabtree emerged after Smith was benched. Even the weak officiating wasn't the problem. The defense not showing up and tight butt play calling lost that game... And a 108 yard kickoff return.

One hoped he hadn't "one-hopped" every pass. wink.gif

good safety play, but what about the offensive linemen holding the defense with no penalties called? Good game overall

What's the use of calling that one? Holding in the endzone is... a safety. Kinda the whole point of the play. Ref's want to get the F outta there as much as everyone else.
just read that in one of the many news articles about the story..Penalty in end zone results in a safety anyway..

Read through some of the posts here. For the most part it was an uninspired game yet watchable. It remained so only because the Niners' started playing better along with the drama of the lighting malfunction. And the halftime show? From a production standpoint, best ever! Nothing even comes close. Amazing job by Beyonce and her production crew! Final thoughts....is it just me or is the after game presentation becoming rather blah? With all the hype leading up to the game, all the excitement (more or less) during the game, the awards presentation and celebration seems kind of stale to me.

I never watch the post-game presentations, even when my favorite team wins, because by that time, I'm done with football. Same reason I never turn on the game until about 15 minutes before kick off. On another note, I wonder if Ray Lewis's "associates" told the referees that they would be watching the game, just in case it didn't go their way?

It's no surprise that players curse, but usually someone is listening and closes the mic ASAP. I suspect that there is so much chatter going on in the truck during the game that you can't really pay attention to what is actually going out "over the air.". All of the comms and hot-mic feeds in the truck audio booth get in the way of hearing what is really going on.
I wish there were 2 audio feeds for pro sports: one "G" rated and one "Unrated."wink.gif

Hopefully, the guy can go full-throttle gangster now that he doesn't have to worry about his football career.
That said, he will probably land a fat contract as an "analyst" at a network....rolleyes.gif

The Doritos commercials were made and submitted by ordinary people. The second one, with the guy in the wedding dress, was done by some guys here in Charlotte. We watched them all on YouTube last week; there were some others that were very good as well. Who needs a multi-million dollar ad agency?
The goat one ruled IMO.

I was disappointed that my Niner's defense showed up late to the party, but even more disappointed in the Simms/Nantz commentary. I'm not sure why, but they were really off there game last night.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

I have sinned.

I recorded the game to DVR. And after that power failure I was sure glad I did. I watched every play and commercial, but skipped the majority of the in between stuff and halftime. I caught up to the live action with about a minute left in the game. At 6:30 I was watching Phil Mickelson finish the final 9 of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, which I also recorded to DVR. I don’t: Do it live! tongue.gif

The Doritos commercials were my favorite.

Enjoyed the game. So many comebacks this postseason, which added a lot of excitement. The MFL (not a typo) was a very balanced league this season and the SB was a testament to that.

Flacco got the MVP, but I thought Jacoby Jones was equally deserving.

Congrats to the Ravens.

I did the same.

Congrats to the Ravens.
The lesson to be learned is a young team can't make mistakes against an experienced veteran team and expect to win the SB.
Oh well, the best days are ahead for this 49er team.wink.gif

Great game! As a Ravens fan, I was really sweating it out there at the end. The 49ers fought hard to come back but dug themselves too big a hole in the first half to overcome. Kaepernick looks like the real deal and their future should be bright with him though.

Halftime show was also amazing and Beyonce was as mesmerizing as ever smile.gif

Favorite commercial probably the Tide Joe Montana stain.

Good game, but unlike some of you, the only thing I saw mesmerizing about Beyonce was her outstanding good looks. The surprise reunion with Beyonce and the other two members of Destiny's Child was a nice touch. However, I was much more impressed with the Sandy Hook Elementary School kids and Jennifer Hudson and then Alicia Keys after that. My favorite commercials were the Tide one mentioned above, the Budweiser commercial reuniting the guy with the horse in Chicago, and my personal favorite, the Dodge Ram salute to farmers with Paul Harvey.

Even with the press that it's getting, the Ram commercial is severely underrated. That was a phenomenal spot. And the photography was stellar!

and just listening to Paul Harvey again was purely nostalgic....

Three quarters of the people farming in this country are probably Hispanic immigrants. They're one of the reasons why food is so relatively cheap. But no mention, or pictures, of any of them. Shameless pandering to sell trucks. So, that spot wasn't one of my favorites, no.

rolleyes.gif Come on Arch, because of your unbelievable post, I went back and watched it again. It is a fantastic spot on many levels. I can understand not liking it for many reasons but you're not liking it for reasons that have nothing to do with the ad. And out of the dozen or so people presented in the spot, a few could have very well been Hispanic. Don't know. Don't care. I didn't notice their color, just the RED, WHITE and BLUE.

Well, I think that's the point - it was pretty monochromatic, in spite of what you actually see when you look at an actual farm these days (there are a lot of them around here), and seemed to be shameless pandering. But that's just my opinion; YMMV. I liked a lot of the other ads. The Doritos spots I found humorous, as well as the Audi ad with the kid brazenly kissing the prom queen and then getting beat up. I could relate to that one. wink.gif

I think you just made the point for those of us who liked the "farmer" commercial. I grew up in a farming community in southern Indiana and I could really relate to that ad where everyone drove Chevys, Fords, and yes, Dodge trucks with not an Audi in sight. The "farmer" ad was a shortened version of a 1978 narration by the late, great Paul Harvey. Here is is in it's full 2:36 length: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuzhwkaNC40

Yeah but "true farmers" back in the day didn't use trucks, everytihng was pulled by horses, the commercial was about the modern farmer with machines and trucks, I would have liked to see a farmer with a horse pulled plow like mentioned before (grandpa was one of those)

Back in what day? Farmers in poor old southern Indiana had "modern equipment" as far back as I can remember. And, I have photos in the family album showing my great-grandfather back in the 20's and 30's with his tractors, plows, combines, etc. His first tractor had lugs (look it up), not tires but it was a whole lot more "modern" than a horse.

The only guy I ever saw plow with a horse was an old farmer near Marietta, Georgia when we moved there for a few years beginning in 1969.

Oh, what the heck... here is a link to old tractors: http://urbanindiana.com/in_my-tractors/in_my-tractors.html

And, old farm trucks: http://www.pbase.com/rpdoody/vintage_trucks&page=26

That commercial made me go out and buy a RAM!!

Well, not really, but, it might have been the best SB commercial I've ever seen. I'd like to know if there is an up-tick in Ram sales this week.

My all-time favorite SB Commercials was the one that Budweiser had where an old lady walks into a Firehouse carrying a basket, which has two Dalmatian puppies in it. One get picked by the Firemen to be their mascot, the other wound up riding with the Clydesdales. biggrin.gif
