Wiring up speakers

Hey guys just a question on how i should proceed from here.

I have a small restaurant that i want to place 10 speakers in. Im removing the existing 70 volt system that was there. it was super old, plus was being run by a amp that wasnt 70 volts

all the new speakers are going to be in a open drop celing. I have all the speakers and a HK avr 310 home theatre reciever (its a bit old but hardly used) that i want to use. What is the best way to wire these 10 (8 ohm) speakers in 2 channel stereo mode to keep impedance at a manageable level? the music is meant for background music, not too loud but will be played all day. and late at night we want to turn it up a bit.

Edit: max length of speaker wire run about 100 feet.
also if im way off the mark and you have a better recommendation i am all ears!!!tongue.gif

Thanks !!

10 speakers is the wrong number for doing what you want to do simply.

The right number is 8.

This paper might help you understand the issues you face better:

Use eight, four per channel, wired as series/parallel pairs.
