Guys my wife found this sharp vision xv-z30000 full HD 2D/3D DLP 1080p. I am just starting my search and was looking in the 1500 -2k range . Is this a steal and better then any 2 k projector as far as blacks, image, picture quality. I saw somewhere it is a front projector, Does that mean you place it on a tbl a few feet away. Are the ones most people use here rear projection Does that mean you dont mount it . Please give me some info if you know about this product. I am trying to research it also. I don't want to miss out if it is a total steal like a deal that don' comes around much.

Thanks man. I am at $2500 for screen and projector. When my wife brought how a paper she printed 5 K projector on super sale for 2 k it had me thinking. Many are selling it for 2500-2800. I am looking at $1600 -1800 for projector needing a screen with a motor. I was going to stretch myself a little if it was a super steal, I am about a month or so away cause I want to buy everything almost at the same time , projector, screen, speakers, amp, pre amp.Lots of research to still do and my time won't allow me to go listen to speakers for 1 to 3 week.

http://www.projectorreviews.com/sharp/xv-z30000/summary.php Less bright, but a decent pj with lower lamp life. What you may save upfront, you'll pay for in lamps later I think. It's normally mounted on the ceiling as with most "front projectors". If your dealing with any ambient light issues, where you can't watch in almost total darkness, it might not work out as well as a Epson 5010, gl.

it can go slightly above/below the top/bottom of the screen, or anywhere in between, IIRC... not typical DLP, but good for retroreflective screens. agree with brightness & lamp comments, but should have better motion, colors & no ghosting (although 5010 is pretty good in that regard). Certainly, if dealing with significant ambient light, the Sharp is likely not bright enough in 3D... most PJs will not be.
