Hey everyone,

I just got a Panasonic TCP55VT50 plasma and Oppo BDP 103 blu ray player. I use an Integra 7.9 receiver.

I need recommendations on the best way to hook these things up.

I'm no audiophile, so everything will be connected via HDMI.

I don't know what, if anything, to bypass, on what peice of gear.

Sme say the Oppo is good enough for everything.

Some say let the TV do all the video processing.

I need to know WHAT piece of gear should do my video processing, what piece should do the audio processing, and whatever else you think I need to know.

I'm SO freaking confused. This for my LR home theater, I don't have a dedicated room. Any recommedations/help would be greatly appreciated!

Easy big guy...relax...

Set the oppo to 1080p...connect oppo to integra...have integra just pass through the video...connect integra to TV. The only thing you'll have to really decide on is who does the audio, not video. It really won't matter since both the oppo and integra are going to do a great job at decoding, and you're "not an audiophile".

Also, that 7.9 receive is insane!! get more subs for it eek.gif

From what i can tell about your Integra receiver it does not have 3d passthrough so if you want to view 3d on your tv and use your receiver for sound then the Oppo is the perfect blu ray player for you. Since it has two hdmi outs you can send one hdmi cable to the receiver and one to the tv and let the Oppo do the processing for 3d movie watching. If 3d isnt for you then one cable out will do which frees up the oppo for a second tv:)

Well I'm not into 3D at all.

Thanks guys. So what you're saying is that it doesn't matter if the blu ray player or receiver do the audio or video processing? Is there one that's better than the other?
