My laptop is probably a HDMI v1.3 type. Projector is HDMI v1.4a. Will they work together ?

I intend to send 1080p hd video via my laptop to the projector. The laptop works perfectly with full hd and has been working with my old HD projector.

Its just that im forced to buy a new projector for the additional brightness and this PJ seems to have a HDMI v1.4a input. Will things work smooth and just as before ?

Yes. It is backwards compatible.

As for the "just for brightness" issue. Do you just need a new blub?
