How deep is needed for two rows

Is a 17' deep (13 wide) too shallow for two rows of three? I want to do a 110" screen but could adjust that if needed as well. It just seems small in the model home I'm looking to have built.

With that size screen you probably want the front row to be about 11' or 12' away. Chairs 2'-3' deep. And back row 6+ feet behind that. So you are probably a couple feet short for two rows that recline fully.

I have a 17 foot room and unless you want the second row right against the back wall it's probably too short. I actually just completed building a second row bar for my room and with everyone over for the Super Bowl it worked out great so that could be an option for you. You can see the pictures of it in my most recent posts in my build thread.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check out your bar. It may be the next best option. I was hoping for 6 seats but a bar might have to work.

I think with the 13 width you could do a front row of 4 with a rear bar with 4 or 5 if you put the aisle on one side

channelfreak,

My room is 13.5 X 20 and I have two rows. It might be a real squeeze to get two rows in like the other posters have said, but that is also dependent on how close your front row is. I have a 114" screen and my front row is about 10 feet from the screen. I have a rear entrance to the theater so I had to leave a walkway at the back.

On the chairs, my front row is three wide and the rear is four wide, two on the ends and love seat in the middle. This still leave a small walk way on the side.

Regards,

Maybe I'll look at a love seat that has a very shallow recline mechanism. I appreciate all the input.
