Which Klipsch?

Thread Starter
Keeping it in the Klipsch family I am upgrading my humble Quintet iii to either one of these: Icon series (wf 35) or reference series (rvx 54). The price points are about the same. Opinions appreciated..I am leaning towards the icon purely on asthetics.....but if the reference usurps in performance it will have to be a consideration. The one I choose will be playing double duty for home theater as well as music (jazz, classical, piano) , room is 12 x 10 ...thanks!!

I can only account for one of those (the WF-35s) and I've really liked them. If you can wait for them to go on sale again for $270 at newegg, they're a great value IMO.

Here's a link I read on another thread comparing the WF-35s to the RF-82s, the 2nd to top of the current reference line from Klipsch. I'm currently running my WF-35s with the RW-12D like the above poster and couldn't be happier when listening to music or watching movies.

From my hanging out in these forums..most of the Klipsch fans espouce the opinion that nothing Klipsch sells is good till you hit the Referance line and above. Those are the people that really love Klipsch too... Take it for what it is worth. smile.gif

More than a few think that they never made a bad speaker in Arkansas, and never made a good one elsewhere. rolleyes.gif

I've tried many brands and Klipsch Reference is the best bang for the buck...

Is it the RF-82 that is the best bang for buck in the Klipsch Reference series or the RF-52? I see the former on amazon.com at $600 and the latter at $374. Do the RF-82 ever go on sale?

You can catch sales or used pretty often on the entire Referance line. If you wait 2-3 months you can pick them up for a song..

The trick is...Do you like the sound though?
