Help with Theater Seating that does not look like theater seating

I know the title sounds crazy, but it is the truth. I don't have a home theater.... it's more like a den/living room with a 60" plasma and kick ass speakers. My wife refused to allow my puffy La-Z-Boy in the house.

I am trying to find the most comfortable theater recliner that does not look puffy and does not have cup holders. Think normal, asthetically pleasing chair meets the ultimate in comfort.

Check out this web site to get an idea of what I need to meet the asthetic requirements.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Buying a theater seat is like buying a damn car. You want to "kcik the tires" and sit in it before purchasing.

Look for traditional wing back leather recliners with nice ball and claw legs and nail detail

You will often find this style of chair at estate sales and your local craigs list.. I have one made back in the 80s and it is like new.. Think I paid $200 for it used.

The title of this thread reminds me that a local dinner-and-a-movie place has repurposed old Cadillac and first class airline seats into its theater seating. How can I make that happen? smile.gif

OK, but then what do I have to do to them to make them work on a standard carpeted floor?

This is just a goofy idea, anyway. I don't think I'd actually follow through with it.

Yes it is.... Im 6'2 245lbs and it holds me and very comfortable. Only issue i have with them are the way they recline. When in full recline the leg support is a little lower than the seat and some people complain that it does not have a high back. I don't see the big deal, they are still more comfortable than your standard movie theater seats.
