Looking to set up a 5.1 system. Any recommendations on speakers/receivers? Thinking in-wall for cleaner look. Any help would be appreciated.

fwiw in wall might look cleaner but you sacrafice sound quality big time. i'm assuming your budget includes avr?how big of room and will this be used for tv/ movies , music, gaming?

Generally speaking, in-wall systems are extremely poor values, having poor sound quality combined with high prices.

Sorry. I appreciate the stab in the dark with imperfect information. Here's the skinny. Room is 16 x 14. TV and seating goes the 14 foot dimension of the room. Mostly will be for movie/tv watching and the kids might play the Wii on it. Does that change any of your recommendations? Thanks in advance for your help.

If it has to be small speakers (like the Bose) maybe the Cambridge Minx or Polk TL350.

If they can be a bit larger then you have many more choices, like the previously mentioned NHTs. I run 5 NHT Superzeros in a room about the same size and for movies and most music they sound great.

RSL has a really nice package for just over $2K. Many, many options..........
