Hi I was wondering what the best HTIB with a Passive Subwoofer would be?
The reason I want a passive subwoofer is because I don't want to have to turn on/off the damn subwoofer every time I watch the tv, and turn off the tv.
I want to be able to use hdmi passthrough/arc to automatically turn on by itself when I turn on the tv, and for convenience sake, use 1 remote to control the tv and the receiver, without having to buy an overpriced universal remote.
So the next question would be, are there any receivers that can automatically switch the Hdmi mode to the one the tv is showing? Is this even possible?
How would you rate the Onkyo avx-290 and does it have the ability of automatic off/on and automatic source switching?
