I have owned my 50hm66 for about 5 years. I had to change the bulb last year. I heard a pop and the picture went out. I could still hear the sound. When I ordered the bulb and changed it. The picture came back. That was last year.
This year, Similar thing happened. Picture just went out, with no warning & this time no sound. The LED lights on the front only have yellow lights blinking. The blue and red are not on. I ordered another lamp and still didn't work.
I called up Toshiba and they let me know of a light engine issue they are having with this model and I am on of the affected. I have 2 questions:
1. What does yellow blinking lights mean. The manual says some kind of standby mode & need to access quick restart feature. I followed the troubleshooting process mentioned in the manual but it did not work.
2. Would this be a light engine issue because I had the diagonal shadow on my screen prior to the screen blackout..
Any response would be greatly appreciated.
