I am posting some pics of the box, what came in the box (remote, batteries, set up manual, iPod usb cable, antenna, etc). It looks and smells brand new.

I took a picture of the Dune UI. At first, I didn't get any picture, and I started getting worried and pissed off. Then I remember I plug the Dune HDMI cable to the wrong HDMI port. I plugged it to HDMI 1 / DVD, changed the source with the remote to DVD and magic. It worked!!!! I can't wait to finish setting it up. It really sucks that some of you aren't able to use this AVR with the Dune.

it's like being a new father

That's great that the Dune works for you! Now I'm wondering if the latest firmware update is what is causing mine not to work. Could you also give me the audio/video settings you have set on your Dune and the firmware version?

I replaced my 809 with this receiver. I only had the 809 for 3 months. The amps are stronger in the sc1222-k and this equated to greater clarity and fidelity out of my speakers. I have used class d amps in the past (panasonic sa-bx500) and I knew they were superior to class a/b, but until the price was lowered on the pioneer, the next best option was the onkyo 809. To my ears, the pioneer is the sound that I wanted at the price I was willing to pay. Thank you pioneer. And if at all possible, I will NEVER do class a/b amps again. The future is here.

I just woke up. I know my Dune has the latest firmware. I have not updated the AVR's firmware yet.

I'll look at the video setting and post them.

Thanks. I tried these with no luck. Can you tell me what your advanced settings were for video?

Maybe it is time to do a full reset and return to factory defaults. Check page 68 of the manual for a full system reset procedure. It will delete every parameter and will return everything to the factory settings. I hope that helps. Sometimes we are messing too much with the configuration and we screw something without being aware of it.

Regards

Just tried this. Didn't change anything. frown.gif I'm beginning to become convinced that there is something wrong with this Dune.

I'm at work right now. I won't be home until 1130 pm PST. However, I can tell you that I've never changed anything in the advanced settings, but I'll post them when I get home.

I don't know if this matters, but I've got the Dune hooked up to DVD HDMI port. I also tested my XBOX slim and PS3. They all work fine. It takes a few seconds for it to switch and also noticed that it flickers green I the TV whrn it does the switch.

Long time ago I turned off / disable a feature in my TV that would turn it o automatically as soon as the AVR is on because it doesn't work with the harmony remote.

I replaced a Marantz sr6003 with the Pioneer, I was surprised how much better the Pio sounded than the Marantz.  I hadn't expected there would be any sound improvement (using the same speakers) much less as much of an improvement as there was. It has made a Digital Amp believer out of me, I am considering upgrading already (so I can put the 1222K in my bedroom).  I can't recommend this receiver enough, it is very good value at its price point.

Ok, so I bought this receiver from Newegg on Sunday, it arrived today. Yay! smile.gif

No...I'm having serious issues with getting video through HDMI. When I turn the unit on, I'll see a blank screen and my tv says there is no signal. The HDMI button on the receiver may blink every couple of seconds. Eventually the signal will come through. I can turn off the tv and leave the receiver on and I will get sound. Turn the tv on and everything goes dark again. Any tips?

I ordered mine last night. Newegg reports it shipped this morning. smile.gif

Have you tried replacing the cable?

An update: I just downloaded the latest firmware update (from this thread) and still no luck. Do I just need to send this thing back or what? I'm not finding any useful info on the net. Please help!

You say the signal comes through.. how long are we talking 5-10 seconds or a lot more. If its only a few seconds there is nothing wrong you just need some patience. How often are you changing inputs that you need instant output? If you are using the video processing or scaling it will take a second on top of the handshaking.

Have you called Pioneer support? I must be the lucky one...so far all the HDMI work.

TV brand, model? is it full HD 1080p? Have you tried to disconnect HDMI-CEC in the receiver and TV?

Sometimes it takes minutes to get a signal. I find that if I power on the source before I switch to the input on the receiver that I have a better success rate.

Yes. I called and the guy walked me through a system reset. Didn't work. He said there must be something wrong with my receiver, but I'm stubborn.

I have a JVC LT-42pm30 and it is 1080p. If by HDMI-CEC you mean the "Control with HDMI" (or some variation of that) command, then yes, I have disabled it on both my tv and my receiver.

I had a similar problem with my 55" Samsung DLP. But no nothing. At first I was pissed, then very disappointed. But I started checking settings on the TV and AVR. Plugged it into the rack monitor and it worked with both TV's using Component only. Back to the DLP and nothing. I called Pioneer the next day and was treated like a child even though they couldn't figure it out themselves. They had me do a full (page whatever as I was rudely told) reset and still nothing. Right about the time I was getting ready to pack it back up and get an RMA, I fired everything up one last time and after a couple of flickers of the DLP it came on and has worked since. I have noticed that when switching inputs things tend to hiccup that would lead me to think there's HDCP (High-Definition Copy Protection) handshake issue at play here. ? I was scared to death that this was not going to work with my 2008 DLP. But it does now. To tell the truth I'm not really sure if anything I did other than let things sit or the way I fired it up the last time did the trick . . . . I'm noticing certain things like this with this unit are finicky and don't function as smoothly as we/I are use to or would expect.

lol...yeah they're pretty rude at Pioneer. Well, it's looking like I'm going to have to send this back. The wife isn't nearly as patient as I am with this sort of thing and she doesn't like the sound from the receiver (says it's too loud. tongue.gif I tried telling her all we have to do is turn down the volume but she isn't hearing it. Never mind the fact that SHE was the one who suggested we watch the Thor blu ray to see what this new unit was capable of rolleyes.gif ) I'll see if she's more cooperative in the morning.

The first thing I did with this AVR was hook up my Dune D1 media player. Luckily it worked on the first try. I played a few movies before I left the house.
I will update the firmware when I get home, I hope it doesn't mess anything.

Can I revert back to an older firmware? Just in case the new one doesn't play nice with my Dune D1?
Hi guys, anybody ever figure out what "Other Improvements" were added to the latest firmware?

You're asking the wrong guy. I can't even get it to show video consistently.

I just finished updating the FW, and everything went fine. Tomorrow I am going to try and run MCACC!biggrin.gif
post #450 of 1383
MCAAC: Stil not clear on the subwoofer configuration..

Since MCAAC does not EQ the subwoofer, do we just do a subjective EQ based on our desired output?

Some of the anti-MCAAC groups think this is big showstopper that the sub is not EQ'ed, but perhaps not, as Pioneer engineering is pretty good reputation, and i would think that if Audyssey XT32 is so great they might have included in their top units..
