Onkyo SKS-HT648 vs Tannoy HTS101

Title says it all really;

Onkyo SKS-HT648 vs Tannoy HTS101 speakers.

I'm not sure which speakers to choose out of these two. I've looked around the internet for reviews but both get really good reviews. I have semi detached so don't want something ridiculously loud and my room is only 11.6ft x 20ft kind of narrow but sofa is around 3/4 way down.

I'm matching these with Onkyo TXNR515 receiver. Main use is movies/xbox.

spamcram, welcome to the forum!

Without having any "ears" on experience with either speaker you're considering, I have owned the SKS-HT870.

Those were my first H.T. speakers and I have no regrets. I really enjoyed them. And even though the surrounds are full range, they actually reproduced sound decent enough.

I'd heard "others" say that if the speaker didn't have a tweeter that it couldn't reproduce sound worth listening to. I totally disagree, for small satellites, the onks did a great job.

I recommend the onkyo speakers for anyone wanting a decent budget speaker, especially since you have an Onk AVR, you can't go wrong.
