Compete with 103?

Hi,

I've had mind set on oppo 103. One dealer advised going with cambridge a/v. I emailed cambridge and Cambridge has same marvell qdeo processing, 4k upscale, etc. but uses Wolfsen (typo?) audio processing vs. ESS for oppo.

Different store said no way is oppo 103 at $500 5x better than a ~$100 Sony, for example, and just add a darbee darblet to tighten up video.

So, thoughts on audio processing, 5x better issue, etc? What is noticable about oppo 103 over other 'name brands' that justifies it?

Thank you for feedback.

(I'll be going with benq w1070, yamaha rxv 373 receiver.)

I 100% would be interested in this discussion. I am torn between spending $500 on an Oppo 103 or spending $100 on Panasonic DMP-BDT220 or Sony BDP-S590 or 790.

I am normally using with Blu Ray discs. At some point i wouldnt mind thinking about having a dedicated PC where i can have files of movies, but at the moment i don't torrent much so not sure how or why else i would need the external PC for movies just yet.

First questions like this will always get merged into the OFFICIAL "HELP ME CHOOSE A PLAYER" THREAD: Can't decide? Start HERE thread.
Its tough to select a player purely on advise. Best to see what's popular and just try it. A lot of stores, vendors allow you to buy something and then return it within a 30 day trial period if your not satisfied.
