Anyone know of a blu ray player that will match a silverstone GD05? Black brushed aluminum? Hunting around but not finding much

Then why not go with GD04? Almost the same as GD05, with a brushed aluminum bezel whatever optical drive you choose.

Because the gd05 can often be had for $30-$40 cheaper than the gd04.

The *current* price (shipped to my place)

SST-GD05B
? (no retailer found)

SST-GD05B-USB3.0
Amazon.com: $95
SuperBiiz.com: $114
Sundial Micro: $121
Newegg: $132.56

SST-GD04B
Fry's: $107

SST-GD04B-USB3.0
Amazon.com: $99
Sundial Micro: $121
Newegg: $125

There is no big price difference between the two *right now*. Just go with GD04, that's better cosmetically. If the op found GD05 for $30-$40 cheaper and bought it, then that's the point he has to compromise with. wink.gif

As for your original question, there is no BD drive with a brushed aluminum bezel. The bezel of every drive is cheap plastic with lots of logos.

Well I found an elegant work around. Silverstone sells a matching slot loading bezel u an mount a slim drive in. Works perfect that's what I wanted smile.gif

Fp58 is the part
A good solution, except that generally a slim BD drive is slower than a normal one in reading BD-ROM (when ripping BD). FP58 accepts only a slot-loading drive. Among these drives, the fastest are Sony-Optiarc BC-5650H and BD-5850H, BD-ROM *DL (Dual-Layer)* read x6, but they are expensive, ~$120 or more. LG CA10N is slower (x4.8) and cheaper (~$80). Many older, cheaper drives are only read x2.

BTW a normal BD drive of BD-ROM DL read x8 can be had for $70.

Just sayin'.

The Samsung SH-B123L has a very nice mirror effect tray door with only the bluray symbol on it, it looks very clean. The only problem is I don't think you can buy them anymore.

Just throwing this out there, but you can try to mod a blank drive cover.

You just need a black brushed alum. blank cover. The one that the GD05 comes with could work.

Also figure out a way to slide you drive back just a little bit.
