Help me choose a projector with a $1500 budget

Hey guys,

I currently own an Epson home cinema 6100 and i want to upgrade this projector. My budget is about $1500 and i would like to get a significant upgrade from what i currently own. I will be using it for movies as well as gaming. I was looking at the Epson 8350 but it seems like this pj has had some issues and its also pretty old is there anything newer/better that I should be looking at?

I also forgot to mention that this is going in a dedicated theater room if that makes any difference

Does it have to be LCD?

Throw distance?

Screen size?

for 1500$, I'd recommend the Epson 3020, you really can't go wrong for the price
