What do most people do with their old 3-5 year old projectors?

I have a Sanyo Z5 that is several years old. It works fine but I recently bought a W7000. What do all of you do with your old projector given that it's not worth more than $200-400? Sell it? Backup? Give it to family member? Just curious.

Be happy it is still live smile.gif How many hours did you get on it?

I use my 2nd pj as a travel / backup PJ. If I didn't travel with it I would give/sell to someone I knew.

If having a backup or second projection setup in another part of the the house doesn't work for you then Sell it so someone less fortunate (can't afford new projector ) can enjoy having a big screen viewing experience as you do!

I have a IN72 (480p projector) and wasn't using it so I gave it to my son and he used it in his room until the bulb went out. I bought a new bulb and ceiling mounted it at the house. It's not high def where I can see every actor's pores, but for just watching movies it's great. I do want to replace it with a 1080p projector and then the old one will probably go to my mom.

I give them to family members looking to get into FP. They typically hold them over for a year or so until they pull the trigger on something new.

I think this is what I am going to do. The unit works perfectly and the bulb has about 1,200 hours on it so plenty of life remaining.

I usually give them away, but sometimes sell them if they are worth more than $150.
