Can anyone tell me about the KEF T series speakers. I really like their styling but have absolutely no idea how they sound.I'm specifically looking at the T205 Set. I'm thinking to pair them with a Denon receiver; a 2313CI. Any comments, opinions, advice, etc will me much appreciated.

If you have to go with flat-wall-mount speakers they are good.

I believe most would say you can get much better sounding speakers for the same budget/price if you can consider traditional/larger speakers. Satellite speakers are similar - still not as good a sound-for-dollar value as traditional/larger speakers, but a better sound-for-dollar value than flat-wall-mount speakers.

I've got the T105's in my bedroom system. For a flat speaker, they are pretty damn good. They may not be as good as some traditional speakers but they are sure a hell of a lot better than a ton of them. the sub is very good for it's size and sounds really nice, lots of punch for a 10" and it's size is nice. The connections are on the bottom of the sub so once it's plugged in and your RCA connected, you don't have to hide it away. In my case, I actually have it laying on it's back in my dresser as that's the only place it will fit but lucky for me, it sounds the best where it is and I'm super happy with the entire system as a whole and I'm a picky bastard too lol
I will admit, I only paid about half of MRSP and at full price, I may not have bothered getting them. In fact, I had the system for a few days and took it back because it just never sounded right, in the end it turned out to be the NAD receiver I bought. I bought a high end soundbar to replace (since it's just in the bedroom) but it just didn't cut it. Once I found out the receiver was a turd, I took it back and am using my onyko 607 instead and got a new NAD T787 but haven't switch them back yet as the 607 does a good enough job.

Thanks for your help. So for the budget of around $1500 what traditional/large speakers would you recommend?

Are you planning on wall mounting? If you are, they are better than most others I've heard (which Is why I bought them). As far as traditional speakers go, geez, there are so many to choose from, you'll have to go audition a few brands and see what you like. Theres not point on recommending speakers as what I like you may hate. There are tons of threads that have that same budget, I'm sure if you use the search function, you'll be able to find many recommendations in that price range.

Wall mounting is my choice. So today I heard the B&W 683B and absolutely loved them. Unfortunately they are way outside my price range for a full 5.1 system (around $1500 just for the fronts. The rear, center, and sub are not included) . So with the B&W 683B as a reference point, what should I consider in the lower price that would sound like the B&Ws? I also heard the Def Tech XTR-40 and didn't like them at all! The B&W completely blew them away!!!

You might try the KEF Q100. It is front ported and has a bracket built onto it for wall mounting. The same is true for the Q300 - but that's a bigger speaker and wall mounting could be an issue visually ... but it would sound excellent.

FWIW, accessories4less carries B-stock of the KEF Q series with a healthy discount. In the KEF thread several people have purchased through them (including me) and the speakers look/function like new. They also have a 30 day return policy (but with a 15% re-stock fee).
