Enjoy them, because they grow up fast. It does not seem that long ago that my kids were born and yet one is in college (freshman) now. Congrats to ChopShop and Gorilla83. Enjoy the journey. smile.gif

Congrats Brian! It does seem like they are all late these days. It's funny because my 11 year old, that my wife had when we were 20, was the exact same number of days late as the new baby.

No doubt, my oldest brings me smiles everyday, and now the baby does too. It's a feeling so strong that only a parent can understand.

Congrats Brian, enjoy it!

Baby Aidan was delivered last night. Baby and mom are doing well. biggrin.gif we are a bit tired though, heh. biggrin.gif

Congratulations guys!

My biggest advice is to get the baby in their own room as soon as possible. Our first was in her own room by 6 weeks and sleeping the whole night by 10 weeks. Our second was in her own room by 4 weeks and sleeping all night at 6 weeks.

Like others have said, they do grow up quick can't believe they are getting close to 8 and 5. Before I know it they will want nothing to do with me!! smile.gif Enjoy guys, and try to get sleep when you can! smile.gif

Ok, I finally started to look at this part of the forum, I'm trying to talk myself into trying to build some Fusion 10 max for my theater room, or fusion 8, or another set of 8's for my main tv room. I guess this is the place to be for new/expecting fathers. Our second baby (another boy) is due in early November, so I thinkI it's a sign to start building some speakers!! I am a little worried about starting, I have never done any woodworking or any projects like this. I don't know if I have the skills, but I think I'm going to give it a shot. At least I know I will be able to get a lot of help here. Congrats to all with new babies.

I have a preliminary crossover designed, it's just a matter of getting everything hooked up and starting the listening and tweaking process.

Little known fact...

Rilla is an ordained minister. Fully qualified to perform bass baptisms.

Enough baby talk tongue.gif

Have not started voicing yet just making sure I have a flat response to start with, you can se even at a little above 90dB distortion is mostly below 0.5% and that is with a washing machine running 15' away.

So far it sounds quite good indeed biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

MF to HF passive crossover is extremely simple, just a cap and coil and crosses at 6-7k (I can't really exact number remember all have to look back to figure out what it was). It maintains a flat phase response through the MF/HF crossover.

At moderate listening levels (need to raise your voice to talk over it) the A500 I have powering it right now was just tickling the -30dB lights cool.gif
post #777 of 1496
Wow! Matt are you planning on doing an all passive version or still passive for the coax active bottom?

Man, that's so awesome. I can't wait to start playing with these cd's. 8ohm drivers right? I'll guess 2uF cap and the inductor...where's my calculator?! tongue.gif

Fantastic looking results so far. Looking forward to seeing more.

Congrats on the baby too.

what a great start!

"It maintains a flat phase response through the MF/HF crossover."

i was going to ask if you could post a phase plot of what you have going on there...

the woofer section seems like it could use a little more juice. it appears a little low relative to the mid/top and highs.

also, maybe it is just my eyeball, but it looks like the resolution on the mid is significantly better than that of the woofer. interesting.
