Many of us would like to help, and some of us have done the same thing. Unfortunately, those factory settings are made with special equipment and programming stations that not even a filed technician has access to. The settings can only be reprogrammed with a special set up and the settings are flashed into a memory. It's a lot like the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) on a computer. Since digital HDTV actually have computer processing in them, that service menu is programmed uniquely for basic operation.
I don't know what tell you. All you could do is try and take the TV back to where you bought it and see if you can return it fir another. Very sorry. .. . but those are the sad facts.
