Frankensystem coming to life.

Ok, so my budget (pretty much free) sound system has all the needed pieces, but I have no idea what to put and use where. I got two cera vega ls-10s and one ls-6 center channel from a friend who just upgraded his system, and two Polk monitor 30's with a JVC receiver from a garage sale for $30 bucks. I'm planning on getting the polk subwoofer that newegg has on sale all the time for like $80. Should I use the center channel on its side (there is room) with the towers for fronts and the monitors as the sides? Or do what this article says http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-9821918-47.html and just use the towers up front with no center?

I would try it with and without the center and see what sounds best to you for different kinds of listening.

As for the sub, I suggest the Polk PSW505 rather than a smaller one, if you can.

The smaller ones are pretty wimpy and pretty much don't do the minimum that is required.

Is it worth waiting a bit for money to come in to get the bigger sub? I'm not in a huge room but if the little one sucks and can't carry it's own weight, i'd rather wait a bit and get the bigger better sub.
