Seen the nominations for Best Visual Effects and noticed that the Avengers are nominated along with Prometheus, Life of PI Snow White and The Hobbit. Only seen The Avengers and Prometheus. Anyone else have opinions?

I have seen all of these movies and these are the ones that impressed me the most from last year.

Which is the best?
I dunno...maybe just flip a coin.wink.gif

Prometheus's visual effects integration with "real" images was seamless and truly beautiful. It deserves to win imo. I've seen all of them too and they all looked superb, but Prometheus stands out. ymm...well the usual wink.gif

Probably so...I really doubt, after all of the Internet "disappointment" with Prometheus, there will be much in the way of awards....

Well, as usual, it will be a politically correct decision... Unless they decide to have some balls...which happens so very rarely (but it does happen every once in a while). A movie that questions religion/the existence of god? no way! rolleyes.gif

...I also think Lincoln will win, because well, it's Lincoln and it *is* a great movie. But Argo, Django too... anyway I don't want to go off topic wink.gif

...As for the "internet disappointment", I'm not sure Hollywood cares about that, in which case I wholeheartedly agree with them.

Only because folks can't believe that the tiger was CG most (86%) of the time, rendered in 3D no less.

Life of Pi is a stone-cold lock to win.
