Insulation for In Ceiling Speakers

I am currently replacing some old speakercrafts CRSONES I have in my basement. I am replacing with a Dayton ME820C. When I installed the speakercrafts I stuffed some fiber glass around them. I was wondering if anyone has tried getting anything else or has some sugestions. I will be installing 8 total. I have 9 inches of room between the ceiling and floor upstairs. The speaker is only 4 3/8 thick.

What do you mean by trying something else? Ideally you would want to build backer boxes, but you would need the manufacturer to tell you what enclosure volume to build the backer boxes to.
