Panasonic Plasma's "USB Record" ??

Thread Starter
So I keep seeing slight mentions to a USB Record feature. It sounds like you can record right to a USB drive or SD card on the TV without having a TiVo or other DVR box. I can't find ANY reviews on this feature here in the US and just QUICK little over views in the EU and stuff. Does this feature work in America? Will it record any "copy freely" flagged digital cable TV from your cable box, or just OTA channels? Can you schedule a recording or is it just for live TV pausing and recording a currently watched program? Might still be worth dropped $40 or $50 on a 64Gig SD card to leave installed all the time until I can build my HTPC box/DVR....

Also, do the USA model GT50 TV's support the "view live TV on your iOS device"? I keep again keep reading a little bit about being able to view live programing on your iPad or iPhone as long as you're on the same wireless network as the TV. Can the TV be turned off and you still view the "current channel" on the iPad? What app is it? All I see in the App store is the Viera remote app, does that also show the live TV or do you need a different panasonic iOS app?

North American models don't have that record feature at all.
Its apparently only available on some models in other regions, just like other advanced features that are in the European models (more advanced pro calibration settings) but not in the NA models.
