Good evening all,

I knew when leaving the store the box had a small bit of damage in the upper left corner.

Sure enough I open it up and I've got some serious damage to the top corner that results in it going back tomorrow.

What I picked up was an LG 37LS5600. I grabbed it because of the DLNA, the slim attractive profile, and the great deal (sub $400 CDN). I figured I had the perfect Bedroom TV. now that I get home and have more time to explore the quality of the TV I'm finding people complaining of Terrible blacks and clouding issues. I'm now thinking the damaged unit may be a blessing in disguise. I'm not sure if this model LS5600 is the same as the current line of 5700 that is in the US (this model is Canada and UK specific), but hope that someone might have some experience with this model.

The TV I'm thinking of switching to, if I can swing the same price I got for the LG biggrin.gif . .. is the

Samsung UN39EH5003. Same as the 40 inch model as far as I can tell. I give up DLNA, one HDMI...there's no VGA, and it's a "fat boy" profile wise compared to the LG....but it's 2 inches bigger, apparently plays all kinds of video formats off USB right out of the box including MKV, and MAY have a better picture.

Can any of the A/V Gurus chime in on the better choice here? The TV will usually be watched at night on weekends for Movies (either blu rays or DIVX downloads). My concern is whether one will have considerably better picture quality over the other....and I'd prefer not to take them both home for a test drive.

any help/advice is greatly appreciated. damaged LG.jpg 111k .jpg file

Anyone?

I've even added toshiba LCD and led sets into the mix since apparently they are some of the best budget segment tvs(40E220U and 40L220U)

Any help is great since ill be heading there in a few hours. Apparently the Samsung 39" models do not even use a Samsung panel but cheaper ones more prone to clouds and ghosting. :/
