adjusted single 12" dual PR project underway

Working on designing another enclosure which will consist of dual 12" subs and dual PR's. after a lot of modeling I'm showing a really flat response from around 20hz to 32hz. Not having really worked with having to fix a response like this what suggestion would you have the response is low about 8db at 20hz and drops down to only about 3db at 32hz. If an eq inline will help let me know what suggestions you may have. I haven't been building long but this is a pretty flat curve that I want to be able to work out before I begin the build I don't believe it's a big deal to fix but need a little help thanks!

as you can see the flat response attached Ideas

You really don't have too many options there. In reality you are tuning too low for the enclosure volume you have. It says you are tuning to 18hz, but based on where that lower knee is, it looks lower than that. Can you put up the impedance curve to see where the minimum is between the 2 peaks? This minimum is the frequency you are tuned to. I'd guess it's more like 14hz than 18hz. Tuning higher gives less extension but flattens the response. Increasing volume brings that low end up as well. What woofer and PR's are these?

John, ok increased size and adjusted some weight on the pr's. still a little flat. Would an eq be able to boost here? Its interesting if i model up with standard type flared ports i can get the model to look real good.

ok played around a little more. The PR side says that is tuned to 11hz were the box is at 22.3hz the graph is looking better but what suggestions would we have to lower the freq tuning and keep a good curve After some playing around this is about the best i have come up with.

what driver are you using?

what you have there is almost certainly a cabinet that is too small for your drivers. or put another way, the drivers don't have sufficiently strong motors for that small of a cabinet.

here is an example of an enclosure that is the right size and one that is too small. you can see the jamup effect in the one that is too small.

OK. That is a GOOD piece of information! I will play around with size some more to see what I can come up with. I have built a few standard ported enclosures over the past year but never a sub with a PR's before so this is all new to me. Let me ask this do I have to worry about the xmax on the PR's? I can send over the specs if you would like to play around with. I'll keep you posted on what I come up with later. Thanks,

Ok project is moving forward slowly. Have changed it up to a single 12 sub with dual PR. Pics are here as to the progress enclosure is 17.5" x 19.25. the 3 baffles are 1.5" thick. 2 sheets of .75 mdf. Used liquid nail as the adhesive for this. As you can see my crude circle guide but did the job. was not going to pay 60 dollars for one so the pic is what i came up with took about 5 minutes to cut doesn't look good but works well. I will be filling any screw holes with bondo and any left over caps after final sanding.
